Can we make pancakes without milk?
Of course, no milk pancakes are possible, that’s why we’re here today! Aside from flavor, the aim of milk in a pancake recipe is to dissolve the flour and other components and give a liquid framework. This means that any liquid will suffice.
Making pancakes with water:
Making water pancakes is the same as making ordinary pancakes. The flavor of the cooked pancakes will be the most noticeable variation between a water-based and a milk-based recipe.
Using “milk” in a dish, whether dairy or non-dairy, lends a creamy flavor to pancakes. Even pancake mixes that claim “simply add water” contain powdered milk.
So, if you want delicious water-based pancakes, don’t scrimp on the melted butter, vanilla extract, and the small amount of sugar called for in the recipe.
