Dragon roll

The dragon roll is a type of sushi roll that is delicious and yummy. In this article, we’ll introduce you to the original dragon roll recipe. Also will give you some tips about it. Particularly dragon rolls are served at many American restaurants and buffets. However, it’s a Japanese dish but it can be found in almost all countries of the world. When you start making dragon roll, you really gonna feel yourself an imaginative world.

A combination of crushed shrimp tempura and creamy avacado adds more to the taste of moist vinegar rice. It’s so mouth-watering that you can’t say no to it ever. Dragon roll looks difficult to make but it isn’t.  Sliced Avacado really tastes well in the roll. It’s basically topped with tobiko fish roes and spicy mayonnaise. Unagi sauce makes it more mouth-attracting. 

Frozen shrimp tempura:

Frozen tempura is now found at almost all American grocery stories plus it’s crunchy as well. Therefore I’ll suggest you use frozen shrimp to have a crunchy roll. While doing other preparation prop it in the oven for 20 minutes or more. 

Ripe Avocado:

As I mentioned earlier that the recipe is quite easy but for me, the most difficult point in the recipe is to find perfectly riped Avacado. When buying avacado look for the darker one. 

Cucumber:

I have used Japanese cucumbers which are long. They have delicious seeds which are the perfect ones for sushi. But if you don’t find Japanese cucumbers you can use Persian as a substitute. If you’re using English cucumber make sure to put out the seeds. Because English cucumber seeds can spread water inside the roll. 

Sushi rice:

Sushi rice is steamed Japanese rice seasoned with vinegar. Perfectly made sushi rice is important in sushi making. Cook and season with vinegar.  The rice which you place on the nori sheet shouldn’t be mashed plus the roll shouldn’t be overfilled with rice.  Dragon roll recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cucumber Persian or Japanese
  • 2 avocados
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 2 cup seasoned and cooked sushi rice
  • 8 pieces shrimp tempura
  • 2 tablespoon tobiko 
  • Unagi

Topping ingredients:

  • Spicy mayo 
  • Unagi sauce
  • Black toasted sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup water for dipping hands
  • 2 tsp rice vinegar

Method:

  • Gather all the ingredients first. Then remove seeds from the cucumber and cut in square shape two halves. Then cut the avocado and separate the two halves of it. Slice the Avacado and remove its skin. Slice the Avacado and the length of it should be equal to the length of the sushi roll. 
  • Take a nori sheet and spread the rice over it dipping your hand in rice vinegar. Turn it and put shrimp tempura, tobiko, and cucumber slices at the end bottom of the Nuri sheet. You can place unagi here if want so.  Lift and rollover. Place bamboo mat over roll and roll tightly. 
  • Place avacado on top of the roll using the knife. Then put plastic wrap over the roll. And put over the bamboo roll. Make sure the slices of Avacado gets properly over roll. Be gentle to the slices not to break them down.
  • With the help of a knife cut the roll into 8 pieces. Make sure the towel is clean for each cut. 

Serving:

The dragon roll recipe is ready. Remove the plastic wrap from the sushi and serve in a beautiful plate. You can serve it as a sweet dish or a snack at the time of carving. Or sometimes with a glass o orange juice. 

The roll is really tasty and yummy. If you want to decorate it, simply transfer it to a white plate and pour some dark chocolate by side of the sushi. Also, you can decorate the plate with some fresh blackberries or cherries.  Dragon roll recipe.
